This Week’s Lesson:  “Free At Last”

Sinful habits are hard to break. Whether it is lying, stealing, disobeying, or something else, kids can often feel like they struggle with the same issues over and over again. It almost feels like they are a prisoner to their own habits. Sometimes we think, “It won’t matter if I take this that doesn’t belong to me. It’s only once.” But, then it doesn’t end up being only once. Once we give sin a place in our lives, it starts showing up again and again, even when we really want to stop.

In this lesson, the kids will learn from the story of a man who was controlled by evil. There was nothing he or anybody else could do to change his situation, until Jesus showed up. Jesus was the answer to the man’s troubles. Jesus didn’t just give him a lecture and tell him to try to do better, he performed a miracle and set the man free. Jesus can do the same thing in the lives of every child. Instead of battling the same sinful habits over and over again, they can ask Jesus for help. When Jesus steps in, everything changes! His power can set us free at last
