Here's What We're Learning
This Week’s Lesson: “Jesus Loves Everyone The Same”
The story of Zacchaeus is such an important reminder of how differently Jesus sees people. Everyone else had already made up their mind about Zacchaeus. He was a tax collector, a cheater, and someone the religious people believed was far beyond God’s love. In their eyes, Zacchaeus was the kind of person
God wouldn’t want anything to do with. But Jesus saw him differently. When Zacchaeus climbed that tree just to see Jesus, he probably expected to watch from a distance.
Instead, Jesus stopped, looked up, and called him by name. That moment shocked everyone. Jesus didn’t avoid Zacchaeus. Jesus showed love to someone everyone else had written off. That face-to-face encounter made it clear that God’s love isn’t based on reputation, behavior, or what other people think.
Jesus loved Zacchaeus just as much as He loved the religious leaders — and that love changed Zacchaeus from the inside out. As you teach this lesson, help kids understand this powerful truth: Jesus loves everyone the same. No one is too bad, too different, or too broken for Him. When people meet Jesus face to face, they discover a love that doesn’t push them away, but invites them in
Power Verse: “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun.” - 2 Corinthians 5:17
